Translate Slides with AI: what changed in each update

Version 11 · 22 September 2026

• Long decks translate much faster: the text boxes on a slide are now sent together instead of one after another.
• Fixed rare cases where an empty reply could blank a text box, one unreadable text box could stop the whole deck, or a box could be translated twice.
• If translation is unavailable on our side, the message now says so instead of suggesting you fix something.

Version 10 · 22 September 2026

• When the add-on cannot open its panel because a permission was left unticked at install, the error message now tells you exactly how to fix it.

Version 9 · 22 September 2026

• A deck that stops at the monthly limit is no longer headlined “Done”: you see “Stopped at your monthly limit”, and any run that did not fully finish is shown in amber with its reason.

Version 8 · 22 September 2026

• The target language no longer starts on English. You choose it, or it starts on the language you used last, so a first click can no longer rewrite an English deck into English.
• If the panel cannot open, you now get an explanation instead of nothing.

Version 7 · 15 September 2026

• Long decks now stop cleanly just before Google’s six-minute limit for one run and report how far they got, instead of ending in a raw error.
• An empty reply from the translation service can no longer erase a table cell, and a run that lost some text is no longer headlined “Done”.

Version 6 · 12 September 2026

• Fixed: a presentation with merged cells in a table could fail to translate at all. Merged cells now translate.

Version 5 · 18 August 2026

• The panel asks for a rating far less often, only after several complete decks and never on the first day, and offers “Report a problem” next to it.
• Premium messages now state the real fair-use allowance of 10,000 slides a month.

Version 4 · 10 August 2026

• Translation now runs on our own AI account: no API key to create or paste. Every account gets 100 free translated slides each month, and Premium raises the allowance.
• The bring-your-own-key options were removed.
